

It is with profound sadness that we the family of Chrisoula Vlahos announce her sudden passing on May 6th, 2016. Born in Anavriti, Greece on June 20th, 1926, Chrisoula was the daughter of George and Martha Apostolakos. Chrisoula emigrated to Springhill, Nova Scotia, with her mother Martha in 1949 where she married her husband, the late Constantinos "Dinos" Vlahos, raised four children, and worked in the family business, the Springhill Candy Kitchen, with her husband as well as her dear uncle James Demetre and his wife Toula until her retirement. She moved to Halifax in 1988, and enjoyed spending time with her family and close relatives, especially at Heather Beach. She is survived by her two daughters Antonia Pronk and Georgia Orrell (Liam), her daughter-in-law Helen Vlahos, her son-in-law Brian MacLellan, and her 10 grandchildren, each of whom she had a special relationship with. She is predeceased by her parents George and Martha Apostolakos, her son Dr. William Vlahos, her daughter Martha MacLellan, and her husband Dinos.
Loved by all who knew her, Chrisoula was a wonderful and peaceful lady with a kind and gentle soul, who possessed a great love of family and Greek culture. She was a proud member of St. George's Greek Orthodox Church, Halifax. She will be deeply missed and always remembered by those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Visitation will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, on Monday, May 9th, from 4 until 8:30PM. Funeral service will be held at St. George's Greek Orthodox Church, 38 Purcells Cove Road, on Tuesday, May 10th, at 12 PM.
