It's with great sadness that we announce the passing of Christina Lynn (Fitzgerald) Johnson. She passed away suddenly at her residence surrounded by her family in the afternoon of Friday, July 11th, 2025.
Born on July 8th, 1969 in Halifax Nova Scotia to Harper and Eloise Fitzgerald, Christina spent her childhood in Tantallon alongside her older brother Jeffrey Fitzgerald. During her time in grade school, Christina met her high school sweetheart Chris Johnson. Nine years after high school, in 1997, they were married and built a beautiful life together in their Tantallon community. Christina fully embraced becoming a mother to her three children, daughter Morgan, first son Ty, and second son Cole.
After her graduation from Sir John A. MacDonald High School (now Bayview High School), Christina attended St. Mary’s University where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Science with a major in Biology and a minor in Psychology. She then started her career with CIBC where she worked in various roles for 27 years. She was known at CIBC as being a kind and knowledgeable friend, always there to help anyone in need. Christina kept in contact with many coworkers after she finished at CIBC.
Christina’s heart was full of love for her family and friends and spent her spare time enjoying some of her favourite hobbies: puzzling, painting, and writing. Christina's energy was warm, welcoming, and nurturing. She was a caring soul who always made sure others around her were doing well and did as much as possible to help others. Her big heart made her a great advisor and warm comfort for all who knew her. Christina was a spiritual and religious person who loved sharing her passion for her beliefs. Christina was a level 1 Reiki Instructor and this was her way of expressing her love for those around her through her passion for spirituality and healing.
The family would like to thank the Staff of the Nephrology floor and ICU Unit in the Centennial Building, Atlantic Canadian Liver Transplant Team for their around the clock care and support. You are all outstanding. The genuine care and thoughtfulness we experienced from you all will not be forgotten.
Christina is survived by her loving husband Christopher, her children Morgan, Ty and Cole, parents Harper and Eloise Fitzgerald, and brother Jeffrey Fitzgerald (Jacqueline). She will also be missed by Chris’s family, Carol Johnson (predeceased by Ebby Johnson) and children Jonathan and Charlene. Christina and Chris were fortunate to be loved by many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who will all miss her presence.
Christina made a lasting impression on many friends and family - they will all feel the impact of her passing for a very long time.
A service will be held at the Holy Apostles Parish - St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church at 1:00pm on Friday, July 18th, 2025, with a reception to follow at Seabright Legion from 3:00-7:00p.m
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honour to PKD Foundation or the QEII Foundation.
