OBITUARY

Christopher Patrick Michael Boyle

October 14, 1973May 21, 2013

Boyle, Christopher Patrick Michael, 39, Williamswood, passed away unexpectedly at the QEII hospital on May 21, 2013. Born on in Halifax, he graduated from J.L Ilsley High School in 1992. He went on to pursue a career in the electrical trade, graduating from the Nova Scotia Community College in 1996 with a Journeyman-Electrician Construction trade where he was currently employed with Longard Services. Although he chose the career path of an electrician, his true passion and zest for life was in the Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency Service as a Volunteer Fire Fighter at Station 62/63 – Harrietsfield/Sambro since he was 16 years old. His excitement and enthusiasm as a volunteer is beyond what words can describe. If he wasn’t at work you would frequently see him at the station, washing a truck, filling out reports or about to get into the Engine to go on yet another fire call. He rose to the call of duty at any hour and would never be a question of doubt whether he was going to go or not. He was out the door in a flash. Chris has seen many accidents, medical conditions and deaths over his 23 years in the fire service; however seemed to maintain such a positive attitude in any situation. He had such compassion and grace; he gave unconditionally back to his community each and every day and dedicated his life to saving others. Over the years, Chris has grown and progressed in the station in the class of a Firefighter, to a Captain and currently held the rank of Deputy Chief. He was also a Certified Ice Rescue Trainer and Pump Operator with Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency. His other cherished love was for his family. He couldn’t have loved his family any more. His wife, Tanya, was his best friend and he loved her with all his heart. His love grew even bigger when his daughters were born. Jenna and Megan were his life. They cherished him. He would spend endless hours playing puzzles, reading Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, Row Row Row your boat, taking them to the playground, camping at the Plantation, and he always would put aside anything to make sure his ladies were always happy. Jenna and Megan adored their Daddy and their loving words always kept a smile on his face. No matter the circumstances, when Chris walked through the door after a fire call, his little ladies would always say “Daddy did you help that person?” Chris would always say, we sure did. Chris loved his sports, and enjoyed to play hockey and baseball as a kid. He loved Nascar and his ultimate race driver, Rusty Wallace #2. Jenna and Megan were becoming Nascar fans too. Jenna would often say “Daddy, I love the green car?” and he would just giggle. Chris left behind his true love, Tanya (Mitchell) and two beautiful daughters, Jenna and Megan. His parents, Patricia and Harry Boyle. His brother Scott (Mary Kay) and their daughter, Kayla, who he truly adored like a daughter. Parent’s in law, Linda and Cecil (Stanley) Mitchell, sisters in law Kim (Troy) Clarke and Heather ( Shaun) Langille and brother in law, Stanley (Katie) Mitchell. His nieces and nephews, Kyrell, Kylajah, Aiden, Max and Liam. He has also left behind many loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and extended family. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, May and William Bremner and paternal grandparents, Flo and Stanley Boyle. Arrangements have been entrusted to Snow’s Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, where visitation will be held on Sunday, May 26 from 1-5pm. A honorary service will be held, Monday, May 27 at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, 14 St. Michael’s Avenue, Halifax at 10 am. Father Frank Pellerin will be officiating. A reception will follow the service in the church hall. A private burial service will take place at a later date. Donations in Chris’s memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Firefighters Burn Treatment Society. “Chris, you will eternally leave a legacy and will be remembered in the hearts of everyone that you met, assisted and cared for. Your kindness, love, sweet smile and joyous laugh will be held in our hearts forever. “
