Clare Arsenault (nee Canning), 86, went to be with the Lord May 23, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the daughter of Bertram and Annie Canning (nee Conway) of West Caledonia, Queens County, N.S. Clare was one of 12 children. She was predeceased by husband Ernest, her parents and siblings Joseph, Mary, Agnes, John, Eugene, Alice, Laurie, Barbara, Bertram Jr. and Carl.
Clare spent most of her like in Halifax where she and Ernest raised their family. She was beloved by her family and all who knew her. Clare and Ernest loved spending their summers in PEI with family and friends and taking trips to her West Caledonia homestead.
Clare was best known for her kind and gentle demeanor. She had a deep and unwavering love for her family and friends. She was a giving and generous person who would literally give you the shirt off her back (if you liked it). She was a brave person who always said that her faith in Christ gave her strength, which was abundantly clear even to the end of her life.
Our beautiful Clare is survived by her sister Ann Lauther, her children: Irene Meko (Drew), Michelle Arsenault (Philip), Eugene Arsenault (Kay), Glenn Arsenault, Dale Ronalds (Donna); grandchildren: Kelly (Scott), Ryan, Katelyn (Keegan), Jesse (Courtney), Dylan, P.J., Amy, Jeremy, Brandon (Rebecca), Jenna, Jessica (john), Sarah (Jordan), Nicole (Morgan) and Evan.
