Prest, Cyril – 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 3, 2013, in the QEII, Halifax Infirmary. Born December 15, 1933, he was the son of the late Cyril and Daisy (Little) Prest. He was predeceased by brother, James and sister, Jacqueline (Taylor). Cyril is survived by his daughters, Rosemary, Ann (Wally), Helen, Laura (Bill), Patsy (Monty) and Dianna (Rhonda). Grandchildren, Michelle, Natasha, Heath, Denis, Angela, Jason, and Carter. Great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Ryan, Hannah, Hunter, Evan, and Damarius; sisters, Lorraine Prest, Helen Peel, and brother, Carmen. Cyril worked at Public Works Canada for 31 years with 25 of them as storesperson. He retired in 1991, and his absence was felt. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and rabbit snaring at the camp with his life-long friend Albert Jean. He loved his hockey and baseball and was a diehard Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays fan. His girls, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were his life and, he was always there to give his love, support, and encouragement. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2013, from 6-8 pm in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax where a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 7, with Reverend Debbie Aitken officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia or a charity of your choice. Always in our hearts and forever loved.
