Dale Wayne Beaver

May 17, 1958November 17, 2019

BEAVER, Dale Wayne - 61 - With broken hearts and profound sadness, the family announces the passing of our Hero on November 17, 2019, in Montreal, after a lengthy and very courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Halifax, Dale was the son of the late Donald Beaver and Mary (Millie) Jarvis, nee Smith.

Left to mourn are his wife and soulmate, Darlene Delaney-Beaver, beloved daughter Corrah (Victor Chatraborty), and beloved son Taylor, all of Montreal. Dale will be greatly missed by his loving Mother, Millie. Also left behind to mourn are his special siblings, Linda (Jerry Campbell), Rick (Cathy Arnold), Donna, Cindy (Richard Peladeau), Mark, Janet (Jim Morrison), and MaryAnn (Evan Morris). He will also be greatly missed by “Noodles” (Brandon Delaney), and his life-long sister-like friend, Crystal Ross-Jones (Montreal), as well as his many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. The newest and greatest joy to his life was getting to see the early arrival of his beautiful and precious first Grandchild, his Granddaughter, Orianna Koli Chatraborty, and to kiss her picture.

Besides his father, Dale was predeceased by his very dear Niece/Goddaughter, Janet Fleming (nee Langley).

I cannot put into simple words the man that we have lost. Even in the face of tremendous pain, he was able to remain hopeful. There was no need to be ashamed of tears, for tears bore witness that this man had the greatest of courage, the courage to suffer. Only Dale, while in pain, could make us laugh while we were crying, even close to the end. Enough can’t be said about Dale, his character, his love of people, his charisma, not to mention his “fine” looks. His compassion and the way he captured the hearts of people, including medical and hospital staff. He was known as Bounce Back Beaver and the Energizer Bunny. When he was near, everyone knew he was near. He loved life so much. Dale was very devoted to his family and friends. He believed that if a person didn’t keep their word, their word was worth nothing.

Dale passed just the way he wanted to, with family by his side. We cannot thank enough the people that came to visit and to say their goodbyes in Montreal during the last week that he was still with us. I am so thankful that i was able to lie beside him and hold his hands and face while we slept the last four nights of his life. With his Mom and sisters by his side, in the same room overnight as well, all of us together with him, holding his hands, touching him, and talking to him together and alone, and kissing him until the end. Thank you, God, from all of us for that Priceless Gift. RIP, Our Hero. You’ll never be forgotten.

Cremation has taken place in Montreal and he is now back home in Halifax.

Visitation will be Friday, November 29th from 2-4 and 7-9 at J.A. Snow's Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Service will be at Snow’s Saturday afternoon at 2 pm, November 30th , with burial immediately following at Fairview Cemetery in Halifax.

Flowers are very welcome and memorial donations may be made online to Cedars CanSupport via www.cedars.ca or by self-addressed, prepaid envelopes available at the Funeral Home.

To Darlene and the entire Beaver family!
My sincerest condolences to all of you during this time!
I am blessed to have met Dale and Darlene when their warm, loving and kind souls walked into where I worked to buy a “light/portable scooter which could also be easily dissembled and placed into their car for their trips « back home »! Dale confessed, in secret to me while Darlene was busy arranging payment, that he wanted it more for Darlene as he was hoping she would drive it while he was on his “big scooter “. What a generous couple these two are - I thought - one for fundraising to buy the scooter (Darlene) and the other (Dale) who wanted it for the woman he so loved! Little did I know then that I would continue to witness their love for eachother over the next two years as they lovingly opened their hearts and arms to me and we became friends!
I will cherish the memories forever! and I promise Dale...we are going to have that pizza (from Pizzahut too) one day!
Warm loving hugs to all of you over the next few days and weeks!
The wheelchair lady friend Jenn!
