HYNES (Harnish), Darlene Sandra

Age 52. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Darlene “Dar” Hynes on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at the Hospice Halifax Centre. Dar will be remembered by her family and friends as one of the most caring and generous people you could ever meet. She had a vibrant personality and truly enjoyed life to the fullest.

Dar made a living working alongside her family to run their business, Metro Collision, for over thirty years. She took great pride in her work and cherished the many friendships that she made with colleagues and customers throughout the years.

Outside of work, Darlene liked to stay busy and always had many projects on the go at home. She enjoyed making several different kinds of crafts including painting, quilting and designing home décor. Dar also enjoyed kayaking at her cabin and cod fishing with her family while on vacation in Newfoundland each summer.

She is survived by her loving parents Cyril and Sandra Harnish, husband Craig Hynes, son Jeremy Hynes, and brother Dale Harnish (Mary & Lindsey), as well as Craig’s family including in-laws Lester & Grace Hynes, “adopted sisters” Janice (Clayton) and Jennifer (Rick), brothers-in-law, Tony (Betty), Keith (Patsy; predeceased ), Randy(Edna) and Larry (Val), as well as her closest friends Corinna Hynes and Jennifer King.

Her family would like to send their sincerest thanks to the doctors and nurses on the Palliative Care Team at the VG Hospital as well as the amazing team working at the Hospice Halifax Centre. Together as a family, we are so grateful for the care you provided to Dar throughout this difficult time.

A Celebration of Life and visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 9th from 7-9pm at J A Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. A private family burial will take place at a later date. It has been a very long time since I saw Darlene but what sticks in my memory is how positive and upbeat person she was. I noticed this every time I would visit them at their camp because it was always more interesting then my own.
I am very sad to hear of her passing but my memorys of her will always lift my spirits and put a smile on my face.

Thinking of you all at such a sad time. Darlene was a close friend when we were young. We had so many fun times, lots of sleepovers and adventures. You all were a wonderful family and always made us feel at home. I did have alittle catch up with Darlene a few years ago at the craft show. She hadn’t changed abit 💗

I’m so sorry I couldn’t attend tonight. Your photo tribute was beautiful. I will always remember Darlene’s smile and laugh. She was a beautiful soul taken far too soon.

My sympathies

I will never forget the day that I net Darlene... i had applied for the finance job at Metro Collision. As soon as I walked through the door, I knew that Dar was a genuine soul. The very best kind that you would want in your life. We had so many laughs together and I treasure some very fond and precious memories.
My heart breaks knowing that she could not stay but her suffering was too great.
She has left a lifetime of love and memories with us all.
Love you, Dar!!
