Born in Saint John, New Brunswick in 1941 he was the son of Kent and Willa Mae Randall (nee Wells).
David graduated from TUNS in 1964 with a BSc Civil Engineering and was employed by Environment Canada until his retirement in 1996 .
David was always eager for home improvement projects and his retirement brought time to putter in the garage with his tools and saws. He loved hockey and will be well remembered as an avid Minor Hockey coach for many years when the children were young. He also enjoyed ballroom dancing and world travel with his wife Shirley. David was never idle.
He is survived by his beloved wife Shirley (nee Morris), his brother George Randall, devoted dad to sons Dr. Troy Randall and Scott Randall and daughter Dienna Randall who remember fondly the family camping trips they took in their youth. His grandchildren Jared and Shawn Randall, his stepson Scott MacKinnon and stepdaughter Alison Gerard (nee MacKinnon), his step grandsons Grant and Jack Gerard and his step grandaughter Caitlin Gerard all of whom will miss him dearly and cherish the memories they made with him. He was predeceased by his brother Robert (Bob) Randall.
Memorial Service to be held Saturday April 13, 2024 - 2pm. J A Snows Funeral Home Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Interment to follow at a later date Oakridge Memorial Gardens.
