Donna was born December 29,1946 and was a very creative and talented person with a love for singing painting and gardening.
During her high school years, she was a member of the singing group The Patrician Minstrels of St Pat’s High School, they made numerous appearances at high school concerts and on TV.
She shined at tole painting and for many years taught classes, her students enjoyed her teaching as she combined humor with her lessons, and everyone had a fun time.
Donna took extreme interest in the schooling of our children and for many years was involved in the Ian Forsyth Home and School Association and several years as President.
As Queen of her Chapter of the Red Hats Society and later Vice Queen of her Chapter of the Crown Jewels she enjoyed many outings with the girls dressed up in their bling, visiting restaurants and other local establishments. The highlight of her year was having a sleepover with the girls at the Chester property.
Donna had a great love of all animals, especially the family dogs and those of neighbors and strangers she would meet on her many walks.
Donna was the Matriarch of the family and had special relationships with Darlene and Kelsie who were like her own daughters.
Donna is survived by her husband of almost Fifty-Three years Richard, her sons Mark (Terri) Michael (Darlene), both of Dartmouth, brother Terry Cooper (Natalie) Truro, Sisters-in-law Shirley Johnston Halifax, Sherry Fraser (John) Dartmouth. Also, her grandchildren Kelsie (David) Greenwood, Tyler and Jacob both of Dartmouth, as well as her many nieces and nephews and wonderful friends and neighbours, all of whom she loved unconditionally.
Donna was a very kind person, always greeting family and friends with a huge smile and a hug.
In lieu of flowers or donations, please do something kind for another person – and don’t tell anyone you did it. That was Donna’s way – to help without asking for anything in return.
