Karountzos, Theodora, "Dora"- 69, Halifax, passed away at home surrounded by her family on August 24, 2011. Dora is survived by her husband, Stratos; sons, Kosta, Labi, and Jimmy (Sarah); and her beloved grandsons, Stratos and John William, all in Halifax. She is also survived by her sister, Tasia (Christos) Gouvalis, and her nieces, Maria (Aris) and Matina (Labros) Gouvalis, all in Greece.
Born in Elika, Lakonia, Greece to the late Matina and Labi Kyriakakis, Dora immigrated to Canada in 1962. Dora was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends in Canada and abroad.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 28th, from 7-9 p.m., at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax (902) 455-0531. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Monday, August 29th, at St George’s Greek Orthodox Church, 38 Purcell’s Cove Rd, Halifax. Burial will follow at St. John’s Anglican Cemetery.
