Doreen Myrna (Fenton) Webber, age 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, March 5, 2021 at Arborstone Enhanced Care, Halifax. Born June 25, 1929 in Country Harbour, NS, she was the daughter of Hadley and Hazel (Josey) Fenton.
In her younger years, Mom taught school in Country Harbour and subsequently worked at Simpson's when she moved to Halifax. She met our father, William H. Webber, during a public skate at the Halifax Forum. They were married in 1953 and Dad built the family home in Rockingham. Mom was a superior homemaker and spent her time cooking and baking for her family as well as crafting and sewing. She was very close with her siblings and kept in touch frequently by phone and visits. She was a faithful member of Central and Sheffield Baptist Churches. Mom enthusiastically participated in weekly fellowship services and many church activities ranging from nursery attendant and children's church teacher, to Scripture and poem recitation, visitation to nursing homes and choir member over the years. She enjoyed bowling and fellowship with her church family. She was a devoted, loving mother and set a wonderful example of faithfulness and kindness. She was the best Grammie ever.
She is survived by sons Grant and Paul (Bev); grandchildren Jonathan (Katie), Nicholas (Marley), Brandon (Savannah), Greg (Emily), Leah (Joshua) and Jacklyn (Rick); great grandchildren Hayden, Milah, Kasen, Victoria, and Oaklynn; sister, Phyllis Jennings; brother, Kenneth Fenton; nieces, nephews and extended family in NS and Ontario. She was predeceased by her husband, William; brothers Lloyd and Cecil Fenton; sisters Audrey Langley and Daisy Sutherland; nephews, Claude Langley and Brent Sutherland.
Arrangements have been entrusted to J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, where online condolences may be made by visiting www.jasnowfuneralhome.com. Graveside service and interment will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Oakridge Memorial Gardens, 1078 Old Sackville Road, Middle Sackville. Covid-19 protocol will be in place.
In lieu of flowers, the family would gratefully request donations be made to Sheffield Baptist Church in Mom's memory. We would like to thank Pastor Matthew Porter and the church family for their prayer and support for Mom and Dad in recent years. Thank you as well to the staff of Arborstone Enhanced Care. Mom, you are loved dearly and will be greatly missed, but we know without a doubt, you are now at peace with your Heavenly Father
