Doris Baker

Born in Spry Bay, NS she was the daughter of the late William and Serena (Josey) Leslie.

Doris was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who was always there for her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.

Doris volunteered at numerous seniors organizations. She enjoyed her bowling group and attending church events. She was a member of St. John’s Anglican Church. She loved to cook and bake for her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter; Bonnie O’Leary (Bill), Mt. Pearl, NFLD.; stepdaughters, Donna Nowlan (Sylvio), NB., Marion Smith (Garry), Hammonds Plains, NS.; son, Donald Leslie Baker (Susan Wilson), Timberlea, NS.; stepson, Bobby Baker (Donna), Halifax, NS.; sisters, Pearl Briand (Norm Carmichael), Dartmouth, NS., Dorothy Josey (Densmore), Dartmouth, NS.; 9 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Donald Gordon Baker; sister Freda Gillis; brother Harold Leslie; grandson Danny Baker; and daughter-in-law Cathy Baker.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2013 from 7 – 9 pm at JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, NS. Funeral service will be held in JA Snow Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, April 18 at 2 pm with The Rev. Randy D. Townsend officiating.
