Doris Lorraine Grimm

Doris Lorraine Grimm (Coombs) age 77, Passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013 in QEII hospital after a brave fight with cancer. Born in Mineville, NS, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Mary Grace (Murphy) Coombs. She attended school in Mineville and later moved to Annapolis to continue her education. She graduated from Kings College in Halifax with a teaching degree. Doris spent most of her teaching career at Caledonia Junior High School as well as many other schools in the Dartmouth School Board. Retiring in 1990, she and her husband Chester began their extensive travels, something she loved to do. Always one to be up for a trip, go to a dance, concert or play canasta with her many friends.

She is survived by her husband Chester Grimm; son Bryce and daughter-in-law Cathy and granddaughter Kristy Hubley of Windsor Junction. She is also survived by sister Carol Webber of Mineville, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sister Shirley Crawford, North Augusta ON.

There will be a celebration of Doris’ life Thursday, June 6th at 11 am in J. A. Snow’s Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax.
