Douglas Edmond Rogers

Survived by his loving wife, Ruth (Moulton) Rogers. Predeceased by his parents, William and Barb Rogers; brothers Allan, Russell, Laurie, Lon, Buddy and Donnie; sisters Orlanda, Barb, Vera, Marlene and Donna.

Douglas was a recipient of the Governor General Award for his exceptional volunteer achievement with the Red Cross, Canadian Mental Health, Turning Point, the Soup Kitchen and the Salvation Army. He was a member of the Sharing and Caring Club of Halifax and he enjoyed his hobbies of woodworking and ceramics, and a regular blood donor. He was employed at the VG Hospital (boiler room) for over 30 years until retirement and Canadian Mental Health in later years.

Visitation Wednesday November 24, 2021 from 1:30 – 2:00 with funeral service at 2:00 at JA Snow Funeral Home, Halifax. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to VON Nursing or Canadian Mental Health, Halifax-Dartmouth Branch.
