You were with me yesterday I am sure. When Shania Twain came on the radio and I felt an uncharacteristic urge to blast it and then became overwhelmed by your memory. I honor you with every patient I care for in the hospital, hoping to serve them the way I know you liked to be served. You are eternally missed.

We are saddened to know you are no longer with us on this earth....we will meet again  someday in the spiritual world.....with your funny remarks , stories and grin  .......You were always good company.

My uncle George was the gold standard in uncles.
He was funny, kind, generous, a family man, my mentor, an amazing builder of anything, and of course everyones favourite project manager. 
I’ll miss the many times before Covid that we got together and laughed or just picked on each other, or try to one up each other, all in fun. He always had us laughing right away about ourselves and him. And his laughter was contagious. 
His generosity was know to all his family and friends especially anyone in need. And many of us sought his advice, and sometimes we didn’t even need to ask - he seemed to know! And afterwards any adversity became just a speed bump on the highway of life. 
Uncle George had a lot of treasures in his life that he often shared with us, but none greater then his love of his family especially Aunt Norma, Michael, Linda, and Doug, their spouses, the many wonderful grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. We all felt that love from him even when he put us to work on any one of his many projects- “it was for our own good to learn new skills”!
And I was always amazed at Uncle Georges ability to start a new business what seemed like overnight into full time work. 
He was an amazing uncle and friend to me all these years from taking me bowling, skating, driving around Halifax on tour in the early seventies (he dug the foundation for the Scotia square), our many chats, his projects, his advice and guidance. 
And I’ll never forget how much he cared for everyone in my life. 
We all felt special in his presence. 
May his spirit shine brightly to continue to guide us as he’s done in the past. 
Thank you Uncle George for always being there for me. I’ll never forget your love and kindness.

My dad was a very loving, jolly, and humorous man who loved to make people laugh.  We didn’t believe his time was near, as he continued to make people smile right until the end.  We thought we lost him a year ago, but his Marshall fun loving stubbornness worked his magic.  He always put family first, and had a deep love for  his nieces and nephews.  He was often referred to as their “second” dad.. 

He was a social man and made so many friends along the way.  Even with great resist in the beginning, he spent his last two years at Parkstone, Halifax, where is quickly became friends with everyone and enjoyed being served, pampered, and treated well by the caregivers.  He left a lasting impression no matter where he went.  My mom would visit  daily with what I called his “sneak snack” bag. My dad had a passion for Carmel bars in his “secret” drawer.  He liked to offer his special visitors a sneak snack. 

My heart is broken saying my goodbye, for now.  I always say for now, because love never dies and we will meet again one day in heaven.  But until that time, I will miss you dad.   Love you so much forever. Linda xoxoxo

Grampy, you always had the most awesome treasures in your antique shop and in your home. Your love for a good treasure hunt lives on in me, as I also shared this joy through our adventures to yard sales, auctions, and flea markets as a child.  Early memories camping with you make up some of my best childhood moments. Your ice cream shop will go down in history. I now know why you didn’t keep it open, as all us grandkids cleared you out of ice cream! Thanks for helping raise me into who I am. Your humour, love, strong will, and love of good food are traits that I both admired and inherited! I feel safer on earth now, knowing I have you watching over me.
