   We are so saddened to hear of Uncle Ed's passing. I have so many fond and loving memories spending time with you all. As a child that time was spent at Anchor Brook and as I grew older travelling to Halifax with my family and visiting with Uncle Ed and Aunt Ida. Uncle Ed has now been called home to be with the angels, and his angel, Aunt Ida. Please know our hearts and prayers are with you all today as you say good-bye to your loving father, father-in-law and grandfather (Grampy)

I am just hearing of Ed's passing. I worked for your Dad and enjoyed his style of leadership. 

Inspector Grandy was a well respected member of our Police Service, and his legacy lives on in the many members he mentored and trained during his exemplary career.

I was in the Halifax City Police Class of 1959 with Ed , there were twelve of us now there is only four of us still around.

We are sad to hear of the death of our well-beloved brother-in-law and uncle. "Uncle Ed" was a defining point of life in our family, from 'arresting' David in 1966 (I slipped out of the handcuffs) to hosting Michelle before she went to sea in 1996, and in a host of other memories, from Butterpot to Kejimkujik, Anchor Brook & Musgrave Harbour, and many visits in St. John's and Halifax.  He was always a kind and cheerful man, fond of inventing comic lyrics for popular songs and telling jokes that built slowly towards complex puns at the end.  We will miss him and that smile as seen in his picture here, which never got old.   Shirley, David, Michelle, Rayan & Kendall (St. John's)

Sorry to hear of Ed`s passing, A lot of years have passed since our paths crossed, When Ed joined the force in the 50`s i was in the same class as him enjoyed ever minute of his company I knew that he would make a fine policeman at that time.Which he proved to be true.God bless old friend rest in peace Terry Iceton
