Born in Cheshire, England and raised in Hampton Hill in greater London, Eileen lived through the London blitz as a child. She attended soccer matches with her father, making her a lifelong “footie” fan and avid supporter of the Brentford Bees. Eileen was remarkably independent, still driving until the end. (From the outside all that was visible were her two hands on the wheel.) She was sharp as a tack, a voracious reader and a lover of jigsaws and orchids. Her back deck, where she enjoyed being with Bill, was shaded by large trees and laden with flowers every summer, a sight to behold. She was surrounded by caring neighbours, and a wonderful group of longtime friends accumulated over her fifty plus years in Halifax.
She will be deeply missed by her children David (Chrystal), John (Susan MacLeod) and Pat (John Devlin) and is lovingly survived by her grandchildren Joshua, Jacob, Michael A, Grace, Michael G, Mark, Katie, and great grandchild, Rowan.
Eileen was predeceased by her husband Bill in 2021.
