Eleanor was a giving, full of life personality who touched many with grace, kindness and humour in creating a legacy that will continue to bring memories to the many who knew and cared for her.
She was happiest when making those around her comfortable through her kindness and wonderful sense of humor.
She loved the beach, barbecuing, shopping, dancing, summertime in Prince Edward Island and always enjoyed fun times with family and friends. She loved family above all, treasuring time spent with her two precious grandchildren Christopher and Kayleigh.
A graduate of Mount Saint Vincent University she excelled in a teaching career that took her to Quebec City, Cape Breton and in the former Halifax School system with assignments in Hammonds Plains and teaching principal at Glen Moir School in Bedford.
Singing was a life passion performing with the award winning Scotianaires Barbershop Chorus and directing the former Bluenose Tradition chorus.
She will be deeply missed by her husband of 46 years Clary, son Craig (Jennifer), grand-children Christopher, Kayleigh, bonus grandson Johnathan, brother–in-law Brian Redmond Hinkley, Ohio, sister-in-law Sylvia DeYonge (Terry), Lower Sackville, many nieces and nephews, many special friends, her barbershop harmony sisters-in-song, especially Edie Smith.
She was predeceased by her parents Ernie and Alice (Léger) Robichaud and brother Bernie.
A special thanks for the quality care provided by the VON and the home and hospital palliative care teams. Also, sincere thanks to Dr. Daniel Rayson and Dr. Mark Walsh for their compassionate and professional health care.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 5 Bedford St, Bedford on Tuesday, January 15 at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Craigs Cause, Pancreatic Cancer Society (craigscause.ca) would be appreciated.
