It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Anne Cochran, who was born on May 18, 1940, in Kentville, Nova Scotia. Anne, a beacon of kindness and generosity, passed away quietly on August 16, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion.
Anne is survived by her sons Mike Walsh and Scott Walsh (Sheila Beehler-Walsh).
Anne was a devoted mother, whose boundless love and dedication were evident in everything she did for her two sons. Her selflessness knew no bounds; she was a friend to all and always ready to lend a hand to those in need. Her warm heart and unshakeable support made her a pillar of strength for those fortunate enough to know her.
Anne’s passions included music and dancing, and she found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life—seagulls, seashells, skating, dogs, and the soothing presence of the ocean. Her love for the Maritimes was evident in her frequent travels throughout the region, which she cherished deeply. While she lived in Ontario for some time, her heart was always back home the near the Atlantic Ocean.
Mike, Scott and Sheila also want to thank the wonderful Family members who have supported Anne through many difficult times. Her many friendships along the way are remembered and a special thanks to Janice for being an angel when Anne needed one most.
In honor of Anne’s memory, the family requests that donations be made to Halifax Hospice (Donate Hospice Halifax), whose compassionate care provided comfort during her final days. The Family thank the amazing staff for their dutiful care and tenderness. Special thanks also goes to the compassionate Palliate Care team from Bayers Lake Community Outpatient Centre and Paramed.
Her legacy of unwavering love, understanding, and dependability will continue to inspire and guide those who were blessed to be a part of her life.
