Emmanuel was born and grew up in Talanda, Lakonia, Greece. Seeing the long-term effects of post World War II Europe and a disastrous civil war, he moved to Piraeus, Greece to pursue a better life.
Continued turmoil in an unstable country, he immigrated to Montreal, Canada in 1966, where he started a new chapter. The following year, Expo 67 was one of the first world-class events he experienced.
He ran and operated a restaurant in the heart of Old Montreal, a block away from the famous Notre-Dame Basilica where he prepared a fanfare of delicious Greek & Canadian dishes.
There, he met and married his wife, Niki (Koskolos) Klironomos, on April 30th, 1972. In the summer of 1981 the family packed up and drove east until they landed at Canada’s Ocean Playground – Halifax, Nova Scotia with their two sons. They were happily married for 45 years.
Emmanuel loved fishing and enjoyed the outdoors. From catching squid to seabass, his love of fishing, or scoping out the Annapolis valley for the best tomatoes and apples he could find!
He will be remembered as a strong man!
He was predeceased by his wife, Niki Klironomos on March 5, 2017 and his brother John Klironomos on June 20, 2019.
Emmanuel is survived by his Yellow-headed Amazon Pet Parrot Holly; his two sons, Konstantinos (Tino) and Trifon (Terry), his sister, Voula (Dimetri), his loving nieces and nephews and numerous relatives in Canada, USA and Greece.
