Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia he is the son of Tom Hendrik Bernhard Servaes and Mingxiu Li. He is the brother of Kyle Liyang Servaes.
Evan was a very happy boy, always having fun and making people around him laugh. He quickly endeared anyone that came to know him. He cared a lot about people. Evan attended École Beaubassin with much enthusiasm after spending four wonderful years at Peter Green Hall Children's Centre. He loved swimming, riding his bike, and playing with his younger brother Kyle. His favourite park was the DeWolf Park in Bedford. He liked cars and building things. He wanted to be a construction worker when he grew up.
Evan is survived by his maternal grandfather and grandmother, Ka Sat Lee & Miu Yee Lo; uncle, Zhi Liang Li & family; aunt, Yiming Luo; paternal grandmother, Gertrude Noens; aunt, Elvira Servaes & family; aunt, Astrid Servaes & family and the families Servaes and Li.
A Celebration of Evan's Life will be held this Sunday July 14th, starting at 1pm with reception afterwards. It will be a child-friendly event as we hope to share many happy memories from Evan's life. We hope it can start the healing for the incredible number of people he has touched with his joy and kindness.
All are welcome, but we kindly ask the media to abstain from attending this very personal event.
In lieu of flowers, we have opened a trust fund in Evan's name. Goodwill offerings are welcomed and will be dedicated to an as yet undetermined legacy for Evan: either at TD Canada Trust, 1475 Bedford Highway, Bedford, Nova Scotia, B4A 3Z2, or any local TD Canada Trust branch for deposit to account # 6435600. International Swift Code is “TDOMCATTTOR”, Branch 0537, Account 6435600.
The thoughts and support from the community are the most fundamental and appreciated means of helping us get through these difficult days.
We invite you to sign the guestbook and in lieu of leaving us condolences, please share your memories and stories of Evan.
