
Rafuse (Leaman) Gail Marie, of Halifax died peacefully on Sunday March 14, 2021 at the QE II Halifax Infirmary. She was born on October 15, 1944 in Dawson Memorial, Bridgewater, Luneburg County. She was the daughter of the late George and Lillian Leaman. Gail was christened in the Trinity United church, Rose Bay, NS and was also baptized as an adult in the Christian Church Disciples, Milton, Queen’s County. She grew up in Milton and was a member of 4H, Brownies, and Girl Guides, she also enjoyed bowling, was active in church. Her school years were spent in Milton, and then Liverpool Regional High and finished her schooling at Kings-Edgehill, where she was a guild life member. After high school she went on to Miss. Murphy’s Business School and enjoyed a 35-year career in the healthcare system as an accountant. Over the years Gail made many crafts and was a member of the Kingfisher’s Rug Hooking. She taught ESL for 20 years after her retirement from the hospital. For many years Gail was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #28 and Athena Temple #149. Over the years she enjoyed travelling and Time Out for Women.
She is survived by her husband, Lloyd; sister, Linda Fraser; half-sister, Charlotte Harwich (Mike); as well as half-brother, Carl Sheffer.
Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Kingsburg, Lunenburg County.
