

Passed peacefully on Sunday August 25, 2024 in his 96th year, having lived a long healthy wonderful life. Third son of the late Dr. Henry Charles S. Elliot and Lillian Isabel Elliot (Tulk). Predeceased by his older brothers Henry (Lucy) and Arthur (Joan) and by his younger brother Furzer (Marie of Montreal). Beloved nephew of the late Esther Elliot. He will be greatly missed by his many Nephews, Nieces, Great-Nephews/ Nieces and Great Great-Nephews/ Nieces, living in Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia and France. George was a lifelong resident of Halifax and lived his entire life within walking distance of the Public Gardens. He was a graduate of Queen Elizabeth High School and received his Bachelor of Arts from Dalhousie University in 1952. George was a proud employee of the federal public service, working in the finance department for over 30 years until his retirement in the early 1980’s. He was an avid photographer and chronicled generations of the Elliot family for decades. He was a world traveler and visited the four corners of the earth long before it became common place to do so. He enjoyed his long-term involvement in the Elliot Clan Society. He was a parishioner at All Saints Anglican Cathedral for over 90 years. The passing of our beloved “Uncle George” is the end of an era, the last of the Elliot Brothers of Robie Street. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. A funeral service will be held on Saturday September 21,2024 at 10:00 at All Saints Anglican Cathedral, 1340 Cathedral Lane, Halifax. Following the service George will be interred beside his parents at Fairview Lawn Cemetery.
