Neil was incredibly great and always professional to work with! I worked with him at Marcomhq and in the FCC in Halifax. A few very grateful memories come to mind - whenever that computer or fax machine or the clunker of a photocopier machine broke down, Neil would always be available to fix it for me or for anyone. Neil, without a doubt, was always looking to help out. At the FCC, he was the best as he would always be super early for shiftwork change. Anyone that has experience of shift-work will surely understand the joy of having Neil arrive as early as 6 am for the 7:30 am shift change, it was a joy! When we working the same shift, Neil and I would carpool. He loved to chat about his family - it was heartwarming to hear him talk so kindly of his family members. His daughter married a long-time family friend, Glen - I had grown up with and I truly love his family too; so for these reasons I have always adored and really liked Neil. During those days, he was like a father to me too. You will be remembered for giving such a good work ethic example. Rest in Peace, my friend.

My condolences to the family. I just heard of Neil’s passing. I worked with Neil in Debert in the early70s and dealt with him later when installing IDN in Halifax. He was a kind and gentle man and I always loved listening to his stories. I’m sure he and his old friend Andy MacIntyre will be telling some good ones. RIP Neil, You will be missed. Frank Arsenault

It was my pleasure to serve with Neil in Debert in the 79/80
Many years later I met him again in Parkland Halifax where he was in the room across from my Mom. We recognized each other in the hall and got to talk every second day or so until late Dec 2019.
Lots of memories, lots of talk, he was a great man.
My condolences to the family

Neil was a great guy and a diehard RCAF veteran. He never got tired talking about his military experiences. I enjoyed many shifts with him at Commfac Halifax and a few visits at Parkland also. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

To Neil's family,
I, like most on here remember Neil from our time together in Debert, 1979-84. Neil was always a bundle of laughs, both he and Marg, at the many functions during those years particularly after darts night when the whole dart league would gather at one of the players' houses and party, even if the resident of the house was still at work in the hole and didn't get off work until midnight. Theresa and I still talk fondly of Debert and the many friends we made along the way in those years.
You had a good run old friend and now is time to rest. May you rest in peace. Phil & Theresa Jarvis

My working with Neil was restricted to Debert 1979 - 1982ish. From all of the comments Neil was obviously well liked by all who came in contact with him. As noted, he would do anything for anyone and not bat an eye. No job that he was given was too small for him to get right into with enthusiasm. He was unique for sure and made life better for all who came in contact with him.
My sincere condolences to the Watson family on Neil's passing.

Our condolences to Neil's family. From the many of us that worked with Neil over the years of his service to Canada; we join with you in sympathy at his passing.
I knew him when he was a Sgt at Debert and, later, worked with him at Stadacona during his time as a civilian employee. He was well thought of and will be remembered. Kora and I last saw him when he visited us at our cottage after retirement. It seemed that he never forgot those he worked with. Stand Easy and Rest, friend.
