

Gerald Manford Hebb, 83, passed away peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit 7A QEII Health Sciences Centre on Tuesday, March 17, 2015. Born in Bridgewater, NS to the late Manford and Beulah (Langille) he was predeceased by brother, Donald. Gerry graduated from Dalhousie University with a Diploma in Engineering, Nova Scotia Technical College with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and Princeton University, Princeton, NJ with a Masters of Engineering. He worked in Halifax and Toronto with Dept. of Public Works (Rivers and Harbours), Dept. of Regional Economic Expansions and the Canadian Coast Guard. Gerry had a lifelong love of woodworking, building beautiful reproductions of antique furniture and in the past few years guitars and violins. He enjoyed metal working and with his friend Dr. Dick Glube, built a working live steam locomotive which he donated to the Museum of Industry in Stellarton, NS. He enjoyed travelling and winters in Florida.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Young); son, Gregory (Trudy); beloved grandsons, Noah and Joshua; nephews and nieces, James (Patti), Hampton, NS, John (Gayle), Prince George, BC, Gaye (Sid) Miller, Alto, NM and Linda (John) Snow, Hampton NS. Also cousins, Ronald and Glendon Langille, Shirley Sullivan, Dennis Langille, Lawrence O’Brien, Leonard Telfer, Rev. Cecil Hebb and Jean Ann Moores.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Bayers Road Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Leslie McCurdy officiating. Reception to follow. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater at a later date.
Many thanks for the loving kindness given Gerry at the Palliative Care Unit, Dr. Jeff Dempster, Dr. Mike and the nursing staff. You helped make a difficult time bearable. To Dr. Robyn McFarlane and Nurse Marsha - thank you for your care and concern. Monica Flynn, you were always there to answer a call – thank you. Northwood care givers, thank you for the good care you gave Gerry.
