Gerald "Jerry" Joseph Simmons

We, the family of Gerald "Jerry" Joseph Simmons, announce with heavy hearts the passing of our husband and father with his loving wife by his side on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2017. Born in Halifax on December 20th, 1955, he was a son of Bettina Simmons (Bagatin) and the late Gerald Simmons of Halifax.

Jerry worked as an owner/operator for Loomis Courier for over 27 years. He was an avid pool player, playing in leagues for many years. He loved golfing with his buddies and was a huge fan of the Montreal Canadiens and the Seattle Seahawks.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Debbie (O'Neill); daughter, Katie (Craig); son, Jake; sisters, Ann Conrad (Kirk), Cathy Austin (Murray); brothers, Keith (Dawn), John (Elsie), Murray (Louise), Michael (Ann); sisters-in-law, Kim Higgins (Dale), Jacqueline Huestis (Andrew) and brother-in-law, John. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of J.A. Snow Funeral Home. Visitation will be held in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax, on Monday, October 9th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and where his Celebration of Life will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday, October 10th at 10 a.m.
