Gertrud Frieda Klatt

With broken hearts we announce the peaceful passing at home of Gertrud Klatt on January 1, 2024. She was born in Schlesien, Germany on January 12, 1933 and immigrated to Canada in 1956 with her husband and son. Our dear mom, grandmother and great grandmother had a heart full of love which she shared with everyone. Gertrud was a remarkable woman in many ways including her strength, resilience and wisdom, for which she was admired. She was the last surviving sibling of her immediate family. Predeceased by son Andy and husband Heinz. Surviving are her son Reiner, daughters Doris, Heidi, Rosemarie and daughter-in-law Cathy and spouses, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, along with extended family and friends in Germany. No visitation at Gertrud’s request, family flowers only. Donations may be made to The Children’s Wish Foundation, if desired. Funeral service to be held at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 2096 Windsor St, Halifax at 11am on Wednesday, January 10th 2024. Private family burial.
