Gloria McManus

Gloria Jean McManus (Holmes) age 65 of Halifax, NS, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2014 at the QEII with her family at her side. Born in Halifax, NS, she was the daughter of Charles and Dorothy Holmes. Gloria was a devoted wife and mother with a kind and generous personality. She worked as a medical secretary at the IWK and the Infirmary. She loved to travel to Europe and throughout North America, especially to Stanfest, Celtic Colours. She was an avid musician – loved singing, playing piano, guitar and tin whistle.

Gloria was a courageous woman who survived a liver transplant and subsequent complications for 20 years.

Survived by her husband, Terrence McManus, daughter, Laura McManus and son-in-law, Robert Dallas. Predeceased by her mother, Dorothy Holmes.

Memorial service will take place in J.A. Snow Funeral Home. 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax, (455-0531) on Tuesday, July 22, at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation.
