Gordie loved an "adventure" and to be by the salt water. In his younger years, he and his closest friend Ralph (Duane) worked on a ship which was headed to the Canadian North only to get iced in for an extra week while his wife gave birth to their first child in Halifax. His love of the ocean continued to the Waterfront where he became a proud member of the I.L.A. Local 1341, working as a Checker for 36 wonderful years.
Throughout his life, Gordie made many friends. His keen sense of humour and story telling always kept you captivated and laughing. In his spare time, Gordie loved listening to country music, watching old western movies and doing crossword puzzles. He particularly enjoyed cooking and preparing treats for his special friends at the "Club," especially his potato salad, shrimp dip and gourmet sandwiches.
The Family would like to thank family physician Dr. Frank Lo, the QE2 cancer clinic and the entire staff of floors 9B and 6A at the V.G. site of the QE2 for their professionalism and compassion.
