Gordon Smardon Gale

Gordon Smardon Gale 83, of Halifax passed away January 13, 2023 at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital, HI Site. Born in Halifax, he was the only child of Russell and Gloria (Smardon) Gale. Gordon attended schools in Halifax and graduated from Dalhousoie University with an Arts degree, then a Law degree in 1965. He worked in the Attorney General’s Department as Director of Criminal Law for a time and as a staff lawyer until his retirement. Gordon enjoyed looking at car books, especially of vintage cars, reading and vacation trips. He took great pleasure in his furry, four-legged companions, dogs Scamp and Scally-wag and cats Felix, Lucy and Tobey. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Anastasia (Melitides) Gale and son Stephen. He was predeceased by his parents, Russell and Gloria Gale. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in the future. Memorial donations may be made to the IWK, SPCA, Bide Awhile Animal Shelter of a charity of your choice.
