

Gordon in earlier years was a minor hockey coach and enjoyed being behind the bench of his “Sackville Toros” hockey teams. He also enjoyed motor racing and driving his #70 Bounty Hunter Sportsman stock car. Gordon also owned and operated “Gord’s Garden” in Bedford and later in Lower Sackville. He enjoyed looking after his many customers for their fresh fruits and vegetables needs. He also enjoyed wood working and sold his wood working creations for years in Lower Sackville. Gordon also took an interest in Gun safety and was a firearms instructor. He enjoyed spending time at his backyard pond feeding his koi.
He is survived by his three children, Susan (Tony) Pickett, of Mt. Uniacke, David (Lisa) Hamblin of Elmsdale, Janice (Ron) Haines of Elmsdale; brothers, Wayne (Kathy) Hamblin of Lower Sackville, and Raymond Hamblin of Toronto and his sister Dorothy Jack of Dartmouth.
He is also survived by nine grandchildren, and 13 great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Gordon was predeceased by his wife of 55 years Muriel Joyce (Arthur).
Gordon spent the last three years in Glade’s Lodge and was able to have his loving wife Muriel with him for the first two of these years. We thank the great staff at Glades for providing loving care for both Gordon and Muriel during their stay.
Visitation will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, Sunday, Feb. 13th from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral Service will be held Monday, Feb.14th at 1:30 pm at the Funeral Home.
