Harris Samuel Boutilier

BOUTILIER, Harris Samuel — 90, of Halifax, passed away on February 20, 2010, at home. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Harvey and Susan Boutilier. Harris worked for the Royal Canadian Airforce from 1943-1945, and also worked for the Halifax City Fire Department from 1948-1980. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his wife, Frances, and woodworking in his garage. Harris and his wife were known for their Sunday drives. He was predeceased by his wife, Frances (West) Boutilier, and son, Sgt. Harvey J. Boutilier. He is survived by daughter-in-law, Rev. Frances Boutilier; grandson, Joseph, wife, Alicia, and great-grandchildren, Bethany and Nicholas. Harris is the last surviving member of his immediate family. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 26, from 2-3 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 3 p.m., all held in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax., Rev. Frances Boutilier officiating. Private burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Firefighter's Burn Treatment Society.
