JOYCE, HAZEL MARGUERITE (McGrath), age 93 of Halifax, passed away January 30 at the Saint Vincent Guest House. Born in McGrath’s Cove, she was the daughter of William and Clara (Kirk) McGrath on October 18, 9125. Hazel worked and retired from the Women’s Foundation Department at Simpsons and the Bay. She was an avid gardener and reader. In her leisure she loved to entertain family and friends at her cottage. She was also known to hit the dance floor on an occasional Saturday night. Survived by daughter Theresa (David) Moore; son Bernard; sister Helen (McGrath) O’Neill; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her son Robert Joyce; former husband Walter, who she had a special relationship with for many years; sisters Vera, Mary and Louise; and brothers William, Carl, Reg, Laurie and Walter. Funeral service to be held Thursday February 14, 10:00am at St Agnes Church, Halifax. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Vincent Guest House.
