Helen Martha Boucher (nee Mrazik), 88, of Halifax N.S. passed away peacefully at QEII Hospital on Nov 4, 2023. Born in New Waterford, N.S, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Anna Mrazik, and the wife of the late Commander Guy Boucher.
Helen will be remembered for her love of family, generosity and uncanny luck at games of chance. A woman of strong faith, she was an active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish (Saint Benedict's) and a livelong member of the Catholic Women's League. Educated in finance, her early career was in business and sales. Shepherding her family through eight family moves during her husband's naval career, her children are grateful for ensuring they felt safe and loved. Retirement included spending winters in Largo, Florida at Yankee Traveller and summers in Fox Harbour, NS at 'the camp' swimming in the ocean long into the fall. Her last days were filled with crossword puzzles and reminiscences with her son and caregiver Karl.
Helen will be sadly missed by her five children: Eric (Heather), Mark (Donna), Diane (Andrew), Karl, and Therese (Stephen); as well as by her eight grandchildren: Paul, Katherine, Mitchell (Courtney), Geoff (Jo), Jane, Jack, Jesse and Cole (Lauren).
A private family service will be scheduled in the new year.
Donations in memory of Helen may be made to the QEII Hospital Foundation or to the charity of the donor's choice. Personal condolences to the family may be made at J.A.Snow Funeral Home website.
