Helen Elizabeth Russell

Russell (Lloy) (Hartnett), Helen Elizabeth. It is with deep sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Helen Elizabeth. A wildly fierce, independent, brave, and loving woman. She was the daughter of Thomas and Mildred (Bowers) Hartnett. A devoted Catholic and nurturing spirit, she never failed to help those in need and put others before herself. Her love knew no bounds. That love being especially great when it came to her family.

Survived by and watching over is her brother, Richard Hartnett; sons Michael (Mary), Christopher, and daughter, Julianne (Kenny); granddaughters, Ashley, Sara, Krista, Ronni and Darcie as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends.

She was predeceased by her son who was taken too soon, Ronnie Lloy; husband Timothy Russell, and Ronald Lloy, the father of her children. Also, brothers, Howard Hartnett (Alma), Patrick Hartnett (Sharon), and her dear sister, Doreen Mannett.

A special and loving recognition to son Christopher for the extremely tender and attentive care he has given to mom over the years when she was not able to do so for herself.

An avid shopper with an eye for a sale, lover of Cheezies and someone who loved to chat for hours on the phone – the memories we all hold will be endless. Her beautiful soul may now be a rest. The Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, December 8, beginning at 11:00 am in St. Theresa’s Church with a reception to follow in the downstairs hall.

A special thank you to the nurses and doctors on 4.2 at the QEII for their wonderful care. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you do an act of kindness for someone else, passing on the generosity that Helen gave. throughout her life.
