
James (Jim) Earle Mitchell, Jr., died at Arborstone Enhanced Care after a grateful life of 94 years. Born in Chester, NS, the son of the late James Earle Mitchell, Sr., and Pauline Oxner Mitchell. He was employed by the Bank of Nova Scotia for 43 years in Chester, NS; Saint John, NB; Truro, NS; Montreal, QC; St. Catharines, ON.; Kitchener, ON; and Halifax, NS.
During the Second World War, he served overseas with the Royal Canadian Navy.
Jim took great delight in learning never to act his age, and his life is now celebrated by his daughter, Joan, Fredericton, NB; son, Robert (Donna); grandchildren, Patty and Gordon, of Sherwood, NS. Predeceased by his much loved wife, Barbara; and sister, Doris Mitchell Peter.
In keeping with Jim’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment of his ashes will take place in his family’s plot in Pine Hill Cemetery, Chester, NS.
Those wishing to remember Jim may do so by spending special time with a loved one or helping someone who needs a hug. Donations to a charity of your choice would be loved by Jim.
