Jean Gertrude Mitchell

Mitchell, Jean Gertrude, RN, 87 –We sadly announce the passing of our Mother on March 22, 2013 in Halifax. Born in Kentville, Nova Scotia, she was the eldest daughter of Winton and Gertrude Zinck. She graduated from the Halifax Infirmary School of Nursing and spent her career at the Halifax Civic Hospital and the Victoria General Hospital. Following her retirement, her research and keen interest in genealogy left a lasting legacy for her family. She is survived by daughters Judith(Vincent) Young of Shad Bay and Diane Roy of Dartmouth, sons Leonard, Halifax and Derek, Calgary, 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Leonard. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. There will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held in JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr. Hfx. NS, B3S 0E1(455-0531) on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 11:00am.
