

PATTERSON, Jean PATTERSON, Jean Marie – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Marie Patterson (Salterio) at the age 85 of Halifax passed away at the QEII- HI site. Born in Halifax she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Josephine (Waller) Salterio.
Jean lived in Princess Lodge for many years before moving to the North end of Halifax in 1973. She was active in all of St. Stephens Parish Committees and activities. She was an avid bowler in the church league with her husband.
She was a stay at home mom for many years before returning to work at Tim Hortons on Quinpool Rd where she enjoyed her working life until she retired. She moved to Fairview after her retirement to where she made many friends that she cherished immensely. She loved to play bingo and enjoyed her trips to the casino with her sisters with whom she was very close.
Jean is survived by her daughters; Lynn (Kirk Beamish) Mount Uniacke, Natalie (Robert Gallant) Dieppe, Janice (Robert Williams) Halifax; son, David (Karen Hamm) Lake Echo; sisters, Carol Martell (Edward) Bedford, Betty Salter Halifax, Ann Campbell, Port Hawkesbury; 7 grandchildren, Kenneth, Richard, Kelly, Leanne, Matthew, Christopher and Nicholas; and 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her Husband, Hugh; sisters, Patricia “Claire”(Carl), Dorey and Mary Lou Kerr (Glen) and brothers-in-law, Bill Salter and Cyril Campbell; sister-in-law, Helen (John) Fenton and Marjorie Patterson.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday December 7 from 2-4 and 6-8pm in J A Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax.
Funeral Mass on Thursday Dec 8 at 11am in Saint Mother Teresa of Kolkata 6032 Normandy Drive Halifax. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Special thanks to all the nurses and other staff at the QEII on 8.4 during the last 3 months. It was greatly appreciated by the family.
