Jerry Josef Brejcha passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 4th, 2022, with his daughters by his side. He was born on July 22, 1944 in Prague, Czechoslovakia, the son of Josef Brejcha and Miroslava Lorenzova. He is survived by his loving wife Zuzanna, daughters Vanda and Lydia, sons Thomas and Martin, sisters Jana and Hanka, and his brother Josef. He is predeceased by his sister Blanka.
In 1968 he and his wife Svetlana (deceased 1982) moved to Canada to provide and create a better life for their family. He was a proud and dedicated man who would do anything for his family and had a soft spot for being so loving and caring to his two daughters. He was very creative and loved to build and work with his hands and this developed into a successful career. He was extremely passionate and devoted to his work for McAlpine and Bonfatti being a construction superintendent managing many large projects. His work took him many places in North America and he was responsible for overseeing the construction and development of Park Lane Mall, Summer Gardens and the Maritime Life Building in Halifax, as well as the Lake Banook Towers in Dartmouth. His success in Nova Scotia led him to Massachusetts where he oversaw the construction of the Septage Treatment Plant in Yarmouth, and the Water Filtration Plant in Worcester.
Upon retirement he moved to Miami, Florida where he spent many years with his wife Zuzanna. He enjoyed spending time outside in the sun and reading by the pool. He was very good at tending, growing and nurturing plants, gardening and landscaping and building just about anything, like a two story tree house for Lydia. He was happiest making his loved ones laugh and smile, and always having a witty comment or snappy remark. He put other people’s needs before his, and was the first to help anyone, no matter what they needed. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him as he touched many lives across the world.
