Jessie Blackmore

BLACKMORE, Jessie Florence — 90 of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on February 13, 2010, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Fortune, N.L., she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Bessie (Gillard) Grandy. She was a lifetime member of St. Mark's Church, Halifax. She enjoyed a good game of cards and loved to dance. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by sons, Howard (Pauline) Blackmore, Lower Sackville and Thomas (Linda) Blackmore, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Katherine, Howard, Steven, Thomas, Michelle "Mindy", Arnold, David, Rhonda and Mike and several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by husband, Eneas; son, Frazer; brother, Bill Grandy and sister, Maude Mayo. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 17, 2-4, 6-8 p.m. in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax. Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 18, at 11 a.m. in St. Mark's Anglican Church, Rev. Janet Hatt officiating. Burial in Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oakwood Terrace or Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
