OBITUARY

Joan Anne Cosgrove

June 24, 1935February 15, 2021

The family of Joan Anne Cosgrove are broken hearted to announce her sudden passing on February 15th, 2021. Born in Halifax, she was the youngest child of Ethel and Edward (Hardiman) Cuvelier.

Joan married the love of her life, Charles Cosgrove, and together they had nine children: Charles (Leslie), Debbie (Kevin), Barry (Lynn), David (Annette), Janet (Eric), Kevin (Lisa), Donnie (Kelly), Darren (Denise), and Allan (Judy). Grandchildren: Aden, Jeffrey, Sean, Justin, Tara, Trina, Mark, Adam, Kyle, Timothy, Jamieson, Eric, Hailea, Tiffannie, Joshua, Jacob, Brent, Taylor, Christina, Christopher, Nikolai, Erin, Courtney, and Faith. Joan also had 20 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Joan is predeceased by her husband Charles, children Joan and Paul, siblings: Danny, Clarence, Evelyn, Edna, and Mae, partner Frank Vaughan, and daughter in law Lynn.

Joan was a social butterfly and was involved in many clubs, such as darts, bowling, the social committee in her building, and her favourite, Jive dancing. She was known as the Jive dancing Queen and was proud to be able to say that she could Jive dance with two partners (Shirley and Al), which not many people can do. You could often catch Joan playing the organ and she loved teaching her kids how to play along. She loved to play games, Sorry! being one of her favourites. She also enjoyed playing card games, and she didn’t lose often… or so she said.

She will forever be remembered as a fun-loving lady with a great sense of humour and the warmest, and longest hugs. She always knew the right thing to say and was always there to give a reminder that “everything happens for a reason” and “everything will be okay”. Overall, Joan will be remembered most for the unconditional love she had for her children and (great) grandchildren, and she will be dearly missed by them all. Funeral arrangements are under the care of JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive. Visitation (Postponed), Funeral service (Postponed), burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery (Postponed).

Rest peacefully Mom- we hope you are dancing in the sky in dad’s loving arms once again.
