It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the death of J. Paul Wilson, age 64, on April 5, 2020, after a short battle with cancer. He was a loving husband and father who always put his family first. He always told his wife, Nancy, that she was the love of his life and did everything in his power to always make her happy. There was nothing that Paul loved more than his weekend "movie date" with his wife. He was his sons' biggest fan, whether it was school, sports or career endeavours. He found great joy in their happiness and successes. He had an optimistic view on the world and would try to put a positive spin on any situation. To give an example, even after suffering a stroke several years ago that left him with some mobility challenges, he referred to it as his "stroke of good luck". Paul, a CFP (Certified Financial Planner), spent over 40 years in the insurance and financial services industry. Predeceased by his mother, Helen Pat; and his brother, Michael; he is survived by his father, J. Harold; his wife of 41 years, Nancy; his sons, Blake (Danielle), Brad (Ashley), Nick (Emily), Lee (Mandee); his sister, Deborah Proctor (Steve); granddaughter, Isabella (9), and her mom, Jenn Belong; grandson, Austin (1); and several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Please no flowers, by request. If so desired, donations in his memory may be made to the QEII Health Sciences Centre Foundation (in recognition of his time spent at the Nova Scotia Rehabilitation and Arthritis Centre) or Diabetes Canada.
