Joyce Mildred Collier

Collier, Joyce Mildred, age 85, of Dartmouth, passed away on December 24, 2013 at The Admiral, long term care facility. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Bertram E. Hartlen and Bertha (Vernon) Arenburg. She was an employee of J & M Murphy Ltd and KPMG, from which she retired. She had lived for many years in north end Halifax. Joyce was an avid bowler for many years. She is survived by sons, Donald R. (Roberta), Lower Sackville, and Kenneth P. (Sylvia), Halifax; granddaughters, Kayla and Kacie Collier, Vanessa (Peter) Thomson, Nickey Myatt; great granddaughter, Olivia; brother, Kenneth (Heather) Hartlen, Lantz; brother-in-law, William “Skeeter” Stephens, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband, Donald E.; sisters, Joan Wigginton, Thelma Shanks, Jean Stephens. Cremation has taken place. No flowers by request. Visitation will take place in J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, (455-0531) on Friday, December 27 from 7-9 pm. Memorial service to be held on Saturday, December 28 at 2 pm in St. Margaret’s of Scotland Anglican Church, 3751 Robie St. Halifax. Reception to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to a charity of your choice.
