Age 100 of Hatchet Lake, passed away November 9, 2020 at home. Born in Chapel Arm, Newfoundland, she was the daughter of Albert and Miriam Warren. She was a loyal and loving mother and homemaker of her 8 children who loved to garden, sew and bake to support her family. Survived by daughters Melva Austin, Marian Greenough, Carrie Menmuir, Gloria (James) Glaeser; son Charles (Shelby); sisters Pearl Warren and Rose Fogerty; 15 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 12 great, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Malcolm Smith; brothers Noah, Roy, Sam, Charles and Willis Warren; sister Dulcy (Case); and daughters Christine Mills, Marie Webb and Anne Thorne, and great grandson Akeem Warren. Visitation Monday November 16 from 9:30-10:30 followed by Funeral service at 10:30 at JA Snow Funeral Home, Halifax, with private family burial following at St Timothy’s Cemetery, Prospect. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
