

SWARAY, Kadie – of Halifax; a precious, loving mother of one son, Elijah Chambers, passed away peacefully at 25, on July 29, 2011 surrounded by her loved ones, at the QEII Victoria General Hospital. Born in Freetown, Sierra Leone, she was the daughter of Abiodu Williams and Father Shemgbay Mohamed Swaray and step-mother Lucy Swaray.
Kadie was immigrated to Canada with father, stepmother and siblings in 1997 and resided in Halifax. She is survived by son Elijah Shemgbay Chambers; sisters Kadie Margaret Ansumana, Edmonton, Mattu Swaray, Ottawa, Jebbeh Swaray, Bedford, Hawa Swaray, Bedford; brother Samuel Kargbo; Friends Durrel Chambers, Jackie Dekonteye, Tommy family, Divine Family, and several aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews. Kadie was predeceased by her father, Shemgbay Mohamed Swaray.
Visitation will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax N.S. (902) 455-0531 on Sunday, August 7th from 3-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Hammonds Plains, 633 Pockwock Rd. on Monday, August 8th at 1 p.m., Rev. Dr. Lennett J. Anderson officiating. Burial will take place in St. John’s Cemetery.
