

Keith Thomas Slaunwhite, 80 of Fairview, Halifax, Nova Scotia passed away December 13, 2017 at the Halifax Infirmary - VG Site, after a lengthy illness. He was the son of the late Russell and Hazel (Sears) Slaunwhite.
Keith attended St Mary’s School and St. Pats High School, Halifax. Keith began his career as an engineering technician with Warnock Hersey, then with the City of Halifax as a paving inspector and his last employment was with the Nova Scotia Housing Commission from 1974 until his retirement in 1996.
During his school years, Keith enjoyed playing all sports including basketball, baseball and hockey. In later years he enjoyed curling and the occasional round of golf. He loved to hunt and fish and his passion was his trailer, and camping with his family. Keith also loved spending time in Pictou with is in-laws, mum and dad (Ruth & Jack Donovan) whom he loved dearly. Keith will be remembered by many as a wonderful friend, who enjoyed life to the fullest and had a captivating smile that would brighten your day.
Survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Jean (Donovan); daughters Carla (Milton) Isaacs Toronto, Karen (David) Gray Ottawa, son Brian (Carolyn) Kentville; brothers, William (Betty) Shad Bay, James (Doreen) Purcell’s Cove, Ronald (Helen) Oshawa; grandchildren Thomas & Shannon Isaacs and Matthew and Luke Slaunwhite and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents and special Aunt, Kathleen (Slaunwhite) Little, who raised him from birth after his mother’s death.
Visitation will be held at Snow’s Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Tuesday, 19 December, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Mass of Christian burial will take place at St Benedicts Church, 45 Radcliffe Dr at 10:30, Wednesday, 20 December, 2017 officiated by Father Matthew Keshwah. A reception will follow in the Church Hall and the internment to take place in Mount Olivet Cemetery immediately following the reception.
