

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear (step) Father, Brother, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Uncle, Ken Grove, on Thursday February 22nd, 2024. At the age of 85 in palliative care unit at the VG, Ken departed peacefully surrounded by his loving children.
Ken was born in Halifax, the son of the late James E Grove and Ruby Levick.
He was predeceased by brothers, John and Gary and stepdaughter, Gina.
Survived by his wife Barbara of 27 years, his children James (Carla), Cheryl Strowbridge (John), Cindy Doucette, Kenny (Sherry), step children Darren, Patricia, Dianne, Donna, Sharon, Wayne, Richard and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was the main gardener at Dalhousie University for 40 years. In his early retirement, he was a school crossing guard for 15 years. He spent his leisure time at the cottage playing with Maxi and Jasper (dogs) and basking in the sun. In his early years he loved fishing and hunting. He also loved singing, dancing and he mastered the art of playing the spoons.
The family would like to thank the staff at the QEII Emergency Department and the Palliative Care unit at the VG for the excellent care and compassion they showed during out Dad's final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the palliative care unit (VG).
Celebration of Life will be held Monday, March 4th, 2024 at 2PM at JA Snows Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, N.S.
