Age 88, passed away suddenly on May 5, 2018 after a brief time as a patient on QEII 7.4 HI. Bud had many interests and in his later years, enjoyed time at the Canada Games Centre swimming and socializing with a group of friends. He enjoyed time with other friends, meeting in the evenings for coffee and chat time. He was a long time member of the Masonic Lodge (Duke of Kent) and was a self-made man who wore many hats over the years. He started at the age of 10 delivering milk, then he drove taxi, was a meat cutter for Sobeys, owned his own grocery business, sold real estate and went on to acquire several rental properties and did most of his own work, for their upkeep. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Joyce (Bell); daughters Marlene and Janet (Robie) Vaughan; two grandchildren Ryan and Jillian and great grandson, Hunter. Predeceased by his father (Kenneth) and sister Barbara. A special thank you to Dr. L. Green and the nursing staff on 7.4; they are a great group of compassionate doctors and nurses. Service Saturday May 26 at 1:00 at JA Snow Funeral Home, Halifax, reception to follow.
Frank Sinatra summed up Bud’s life when he sang “I did it my way"
