Before joining the public service, Ken spent nearly 10 years as a journalist with the Chronicle Herald and later with CFDR Radio in Dartmouth. Ken enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid carpenter, building two homes for his family. He is survived by the love of his life, wife of 42 years, Margaret (Smith), daughters Holly and Tara and son Cory. Besides his parents, Ken was predeceased by a brother, Brian, at birth. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, B3S 0E1, on Thursday, November 28, 2013 at 2:00 pm. Margaret and family, it was with great sadness to hear the news of Ken's passing. I worked with Ken at Resources CSU and although most of our discussions were around his excitement of everything “IT” (he had a great sense of humour!), it was clear to see that he was a loving, caring and devoted father and husband to you and yours. Thank you for posting your family pictures including lil ‘Smokey' :)... Ken was truly a unique individual and he will be missed by many. Wishing you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts…
