WESTON, Kenneth Roy, age 65, of Halifax, went home to be with The Lord on November 22, 2013 at the VG Hospital, surrounded by family and friends, following a long battle with liver cancer. He was the son of the late Everett L. and Dorothy E. (Brunt) Weston. Born in Halifax where he spent his entire life, Ken was a long-time public servant with the Province of Nova Scotia, serving 32 years with various departments. Before joining the public service, Ken spent nearly 10 years as a journalist with the Chronicle Herald and later with CFDR Radio in Dartmouth. Ken enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid carpenter, building two homes for his family. He is survived by the love of his life, wife of 42 years, Margaret (Smith), daughters Holly and Tara and son Cory. Besides his parents, Ken was predeceased by a brother, Brian, at birth. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, B3S 0E1, on Thursday, November 28, 2013 at 2:00 pm.
